Let’s go skating in Cuba

Because that’s not a thing a lot of people get to do

Not just in terms of the political and cultural atmosphere, but it is also an amazing place to look at, which means that any skateboarding happening there is automatically tremendous. There’s also a certain nakedness to the urban landscape that makes everything feel a bit more pure when it comes to kicking and pushing.

This trailer from VICE Sports for an upcoming documentary on skating in Cuba features the nonprofit organization Cuba Skate and shows you just how glorious the nation is, all through the eyes of the skateboard world, which is a tremendous lens through which to see the globe. Obviously.
