Donald Trump is going to save us all. At least, if you let him tell it, that’s what will happen. If you watched the Republican National Convention Thursday night, you got 75 minutes of his plan to overhaul the United States’ trade, immigration and law enforcement policies. In addition, his line of “Americanism, not globalism” was a big hit with the Cleveland crowd. His daughter, Ivanka, introduced him, and she had the wind in the hair, Beyonce style, which was a nice touch. If you want to feel safe, vote for Trump. At least, that’s what his campaign is preaching these days.

In a somewhat bizarre media twist, Fox News’ chairman was ousted on Thursday. The very network that gave rise to the likes of the man holding the Republican presidential nomination is crumbling at the top while its progeny is excelling. Alas, such is life. As importantly, and unshockingly, what brought Roger Ailes down was his inability to be decent around women. Specifically, you can thank Gretchen Carlson for that. She sued him for ruining her career after she denied his advances. It worked. ABC News’ Paul Blake has the story.

Bun B is an American treasure. The man who started the rap group UGK with the late, great Pimp C has had one of the best post-prime rap careers of all time. My man is basically the godfather at this point. He’s taught university classes all the while still dropping a track or two that will have your trunk going hammer. This was all after his beyond illustrious career wrecking mics as a full-time job. Anyway, he’s been in Cleveland all week, filing for VICE. When I got word that he was actually on the floor of the convention, I was elated. Here’s his latest dispatch.

It’s hard to understand what the WNBA is trying to achieve. Its players are playing for a fraction of the money they could make overseas, people love them and when they speak up, the league fines them. It’s hard to understand why this is considered a smart practice, when they’re only talking about what everyone else in America is, too.
