Simone Manuel not going pro just yet
The Olympic gold medalist swimmer is choosing books over the pros

While there is no draft in swimming, Olympic gold medalist swimmer Simone Manuel has decided to go back to school at Stanford University instead of going pro in swimming, passing up endorsements in the process.
She explained why on Mike & Mike.
While Manuel said she is making the best decision for her life right now, I do feel bad for everyone in the college ranks who has to race her now. If some of the best Olympic swimmers in the world weren’t able to beat her … think about how Manuel is going to do on the collegiate level.
Manuel, who redshirted last year at Stanford, is looking forward to competing in the Pac-12 and NCAA championships. Oh, and to make things worse for college swimmers, Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky is also joining the Stanford swimming squad.
So Katie Ledecky, Simone Manuel & Lia Neal will all swim for Stanford in college. Um, the other schools should cancel their swim programs

Katie Ledecky will join Simone Manuel at Stanford. Seems unfair to other schools' swim teams #KatieLedecky #SimoneManuel
