Don’t y’all love it when a division foe helps you out in the middle of an intense playoff run? That’s what the Carolina Panthers did for its NFC South rival, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, when they went up to Landover, Maryland, on Monday night and defeated the Washington football team, 26-15.

Washington was sitting in the driver’s seat a little more than 24 hours before Monday’s kickoff after the Dallas Cowboys beat the Buccaneers on Sunday night, putting Washington in a “control your own destiny” crash course for the sixth seed in the NFC playoffs.
Carolina won the game by controlling the time of possession and forcing Washington into three turnovers. In this pivotal game, Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins had zero touchdowns and an interception against the 28th-ranked defense in the league.
