Sim Life with ‘Madden NFL 19’: Redskins at Saints

‘Monday Night Football’: Brees breaks quarterback mark

I must admit that, as a Washington Redskins fan, I don’t have a good feeling about this one. No. 1, the Skins hardly ever come out on the winning end of these Monday Night Football matchups. No. 2, trying to stop New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees at home in the Superdome is a truly daunting task. So as I fire up Madden NFL 19 to see how this simulation plays out, I can’t lie, I’m not feeling real confident about my hometown squad.

REDSKINS AT SAINTS

Top things to 👀

  • Can the Washington D stop Alvin Kamara, who went off a week ago versus the New York Giants?

  • Brees has a shot to add to his impressive résumé.

  • These two squads played a very entertaining game last season.

  • Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is a problem and leads the NFL in receptions.

The good news for Saints fans is Brees finished Monday night as the NFL’s career-leading passer, but Washington walked away 31-17 victors.

Things looked good for the New Orleans running game as Mark Ingram returned from a four-game suspension, but the Saints’ duo was outrushed by Washington’s tag team of Adrian Peterson and Chris Thompson.

Washington’s defense did a good job as well, keeping Brees and Thomas in check as quarterback Alex Smith turned in another efficient performance.
