Face it: Serena Williams has better friends than everyone else

As you’ve probably heard by now, Serena Williams had a very good Saturday. Better than usual, that is. The Queen of Centre Court started her day by defeating Angelique Kerber of Germany in the women’s singles final in two quick sets, then won another final later that afternoon — that one with her sister, Venus, to claim the women’s doubles title.
And Williams’ on-court excellence is so pervasive, so utterly dominant that her celebrity friends are just as likely to occupy a similarly elite status. In other words, no D-listers are allowed in the Serena camp. Williams, who made a cameo appearance in Beyonce’s recent “Sorry” video, is the ballingest of ballers. Naturally, the Carters would make an appearance — and a fashionable one at that — to show support for their girl. As they say, game recognize game. Those who are the greatest of all time-of-a-feather stick together.

Beyoncé chose a low-key(ish) white lace, high-collared minidress to take in Williams’ record-tying 22nd Grand Slam tennis title. Her caramel-colored braids were pulled into a high ponytail. Delicate gold earrings and diamond rings complemented her summery sport look. Jay also gave a nod to Wimbledon’s all-white tennis club uniform by wearing a white, long-sleeved sweatshirt that was layered with a T-shirt; cap, jeans and sneakers were all in place, as per usual.
Other glamorously celebs who were in attendance: 12 Years a Slave actor Chiwetel Ejiofor was giving us James Bond vibes, clad in a three-piece navy suit, white shirt and gray tie. His Australian model girlfriend, Frances Aaternir, wore a two-piece pink top and skirt ensemble by Stella McCartney.

Rashida Jones wore a demure midi-length dress with a delicate floral pattern, as the Harvard-educated actress is wont to do. LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers champion whom Williams acknowledged as an inspiration for her recent wins, couldn’t make it to Wimbledon, but posted a video message of support and congratulations.
