‘Power’ recap: Murder, snarls, and hella emotional love
Tasha and Ghost reconnect, Kanan influences Tariq, and Tommy has lost his mind — again

Season 3, Episode 9 | “I Call The Shots” | Sept. 18
So much happened in this most recent episode of Power.
It’s like they’re trying to destroy us all. All of us. One at a time. Quickly. But with a knife. Repeatedly stabbing us. Slowly. So we know what real pain feels like. Kind of like how Tommy (Joseph Sikora) killed Ruiz (Luis Antonio Ramos) all willy-nilly. Yeah. So that happened.
All because Tasha (Naturi Naughton) told Tommy that Ghost (Omari Hardwick) had some sort of plan to take down Milan. She told Tommy that after she and Ghost made some mad, passionate and hella emotional love. Yeah. So that happened too.
And Kanan (50 Cent) teaches Ghost’s son Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) how to steal expensive gym shoes — complete with a sinister snarl. Yeah. That also happened.
Ghost is a man with all sorts of plans — some of them are coming to fruition and others are being killed before they even begin. His initial plan was to send Ruiz in to meet with Milan — wearing an undetectable wire that’s hiding in a button — to get the scary Milan on tape as the real drug kingpin and thus wipe him out. But Tasha — who’s scared because for starters, her girl LaKeisha (LaLa Anthony) is missing — calls Tommy (postcoital) after Ghost reveals a portion of his plan to her, and she spills the beans to Tommy and Tommy takes Ruiz out.
Tommy then sidles up to Ghost — who was feeling his victory over his club rivals because he had some drugs planted in the ceilings of their club, which effectively torpedoes the deal they had with the rich club owners who want to franchise — and tells him that he killed Ruiz and ultimately Tommy says that they can take out Milan and kill him, but it’ll be on his authority.
And. Then. Tommy. Meets. Back. With. Milan. And. Says. They. Must. Kill. Ghost.
Brace yourselves for one hell of a season three finale next week, y’all.
Keep your inhalers at the ready — clearly.
