Ken Griffey Jr.’s stylish Hall of Fame home run

True cool is all in the details

This, friends, is how you show up to Cooperstown, New York.

At first glance, Ken Griffey Jr.’s navy Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony suit seemed to be a standard-issue pinstripe deal.

But a closer look revealed a couple of charming details: the words “Hall of Fame Class of 2016” were spelled out in the fabric. The emotional lefty also sported a vivid gold silk tie emblazoned with his Swingman logo during his speech before a crowd of 50,000 fans.

Griffey ended his speech by putting on his baseball cap backward, one of his iconic looks taken from his playing days with the Seattle Mariners. That was Junior being Junior, and the Cooperstown crowd cheered like crazy.

Meanwhile, Major League Baseball players (including Mike Trout and Albert Pujols of the Los Angeles Angels, Mark Teixeira and Jacoby Ellsbury of the New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward and Baltimore Orioles center fielder Adam Jones) honored Griffey on Sunday by wearing his Nike Swingman Legend cleats at games around the country.
