Dan Le Batard: It doesn’t matter if the Rooney Rule was created with positive intentions

The host argues that the rule’s implementation is more important than its intention

On Tuesday, fans were reminded of the staggering numbers surrounding the lack of minority coaches in the NFL. As ESPN’s Mike Sando pointed out, “teams have taken a chance on 21 first-time white head coaches and only one first-time minority head coach, Todd Bowles, over the past five hiring cycles (2012-16).”

Early Wednesday on The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, Le Batard argued that it doesn’t matter whether the intention of the Rooney Rule was good because the end, and current, result is too damaging for intent to matter.
