C.J. Miles goes from NBA to photographing soul of the game

After 16 seasons in the league, Miles made photography his passion

C.J. Miles spent much of his early life honing the skills that would lead to a 16-year career in the NBA. But throughout that journey, there was always a photographer in Miles’s soul.

Eventually, photography became more than a second career and more than a passion for Miles. It became a way of life.

Five years after playing in his last NBA game, Miles has thrown himself into capturing the sights, the shapes, the essence of basketball and the joy of the men and women who play the game.

Miles doesn’t just take pictures. He photographs the soul of the game.
