Comedian Chico Bean begins his marathon journey in ‘Major’

As he prepares for the New York City Marathon, he explores the run clubs, communities and culture redefining what it means to become major

Major highlights the growing influence of Black running culture and the importance of health, reframing endurance as more than a sport. It represents access, representation and community in motion.

The digital docuseries follows comedian and podcast host Chico Bean as he trains for the iconic New York City Marathon, exploring the people and communities redefining what it means to run.

In Episode 1, Chico begins his marathon journey by connecting with Charlotte’s Mad Miles Run Club while balancing comedy, training and changing habits. He opens up about why he started running before visiting Charlotte Running Company for a shoe fitting and an introduction to running gels.

For Chico, the goal is simple: reach the finish line, whatever the clock says.
